INTRODUCTION
Many people wait for the big blessing before they thank God. They think: *”When I have more, then I will be grateful.” But the truth is the exact opposite: gratitude is not the reward of increase β it is the key that unlocks it. Jesus gave thanks before the loaves multiplied. The widow honoured the little she had β and it never ran dry. Gratitude is not just a nice attitude β it is a spiritual law, a force that shapes your life and opens the way for Godβs greatest works.
1οΈβ£ GRATITUDE ALIGNS YOUR HEART WITH JESUS
“Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up to heaven, and gave thanks. Then He broke the loaves⦔ β Matthew 14:19
Notice the order: thanksgiving first, then the miracle. Jesus did not wait until the food multiplied to give thanks. He thanked the Father while it was still small. Why? Because gratitude is an act of faith. It says: “I trust Your character even when I do not yet see the answer.” When you thank God for what you have, you are positioning yourself to receive what is coming. Gratitude is the posture of increase. It aligns your heart with His β and when your heart is aligned with His, heaven can move on your behalf.
2οΈβ£ GRATITUDE HONOURS THE LITTLE β AND GOD MULTIPLIES WHAT IS HONOURED
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” β Luke 16:10
This is one of the most powerful principles in the Kingdom: what you value, God multiplies; what you despise, He takes away.
-
The widow gave Elijah a small meal β her last β and her jar of flour and jug of oil never ran dry (1 Kings 17:8β16).
-
A boy gave five loaves and two fish β a small lunch β and Jesus fed thousands, with twelve baskets left over (John 6:1β13).
-
The poor widow dropped two small coins into the temple treasury β and Jesus said she gave more than all the rich people combined (Mark 12:41β44).
Big things always start small. The seed is tiny, yet it holds the whole tree. The act of thanksgiving is the soil where Godβs increase grows. When you murmur over the little, you close the door to the more. When you bless Him for the little, you open your hands to what is coming. If you cannot thank Him for the little, He cannot trust you with the much.
3οΈβ£ GRATITUDE SHIFTS THE ATMOSPHERE AND INVITES HIS PRESENCE
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.” β Psalm 100:4
Thanksgiving is the key that opens the door into His presence. The Bible says God
