Mercy Beyond Human Understanding.

THE SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE

“For He says to Moses, ‘I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.’ So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.”
Romans 9:15–16

When it comes to salvation, many of us try to put God in a box, limiting Him to our own understanding, rules, or traditions. But the truth is, God is unlimited. His mercy and grace cannot be confined to human expectations.

A clear example is the thief on the cross beside Jesus. When he asked the Lord to remember him, Jesus responded:
“Today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Notice this:

The thief was never baptized.

He didn’t attend any religious rituals.

He had no time to prove himself.

Yet, in that very moment, Jesus showed him mercy and granted him salvation.

This teaches us something important, salvation is not about human effort but about God’s mercy. At that time, baptism was already being practiced (Jesus Himself had been baptized by John three years earlier). Yet, in that situation, Jesus chose mercy over ritual.

The lesson? God decides how He extends His grace. He alone determines the path of salvation for each soul. Truly, “He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy.”

✅ Takeaway: Never limit God. Do not assume His ways must always fit into our patterns. His mercy is sovereign, and His compassion is beyond human understanding.

Prayer 🙏

Lord, I thank You for Your boundless mercy and compassion. Help me not to limit You with my own thoughts or traditions, but to trust fully in Your will. May I always rest in the assurance that salvation belongs to You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
