SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE
❌ The Common Wrong View
Many think holiness means never doing anything wrong, never having bad thoughts, and being completely without fault at all times. This reduces holiness to a list of rules and behaviours.
✅ The Biblical Truth About Holiness
The word “holy” literally means “set apart” — to be separated from ordinary use and dedicated to God and His purposes.
There are two key aspects:
1\. Position / Standing: This is given instantly when you receive Christ. You are declared holy, set apart, and belonging to God — not because of what you have done, but because of what Jesus has done for you. This standing never changes.
2\. Practice / Process: This is the daily journey of learning to live out who you already are. Over time, you become more like Christ not to earn acceptance, but because you already have acceptance.
Illustration: When a child is adopted into a family:
– Their position as a legal child is established the moment the adoption is finalised — they have all the rights, privileges, and security of any child in that home.
– Their practice — learning the family ways, speech, and character — takes years to develop.
They do not become a child by behaving well; they learn to behave well because they are already a child.
